As an optometry practice established in 1963, by Dr. R.W. Anderson, this practice and the products and services available has stood strong in the community. Dr. Anthony McDonald joined the practice in 1982 and McDonald Eye Care Associates was formed. To keep up with the growth in both optometry and Lakeville, Dr. Andrea Urbach and Dr. Gina Doeden have since joined the practice.

Anthony McDonald, O.D. & Owner
A graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Dr. McDonald has extensive experience in primary eye care, glaucoma treatment, pre- and post-operative care for lasik and cataract surgery patients, and contact lenses. As a former teacher and father of three, he has cultivated a large pediatric patient relationship. Having been trained in sports vision and vision therapy through the Baltimore Academy of Behavioral Optometry (BABO), he integrates his appreciation for sports, learning, and his desire to see children succeed. Dr. McDonald is a charter member of Lakeville Rotary, the Paul Harris Fellowship, and the Lakeville Area Chamber of Commerce. He and his Wife Patti have received the Business Persons of the Year award from the Lakeville Chamber of Commerce which they have been members of since 1986. Dr. McDonald served on the Lakeville Community Corp for fifteen years and was instrumental in the building of Ames Hockey Arena in Lakeville.

Gina Doeden, O.D.
A graduate of the Illinois College of Optometry, Dr. Doeden joined the practice in 2002. She specializes as a primary care optometrist, caring for patients of all ages including geriatric and pediatric patients. Dr. Doeden concentrates her practice on contact lenses and ocular pathology. She also has expertise in pre- and post- operative care for surgical patients. Dr. Doeden lives in New Prague with her husband, and is an active volunteer in the Lakeville and Farmington communities.

Dean Bruemmer, Vision Therapist
A graduate of Winona State University, Dean Bruemmer brings an enthusiasm for problem solving to our eye care staff. Certified through the Baltimore Academy of Behavior Optometry (BABO), Dean works one-on-one with 25+ patients per week. His patient bases ranges from 5 years of age to 55.

Patti McDonald, Business Administrator
A graduate of the University of South Florida, Tampa, Patti has been involved in the development of the practice since August 1983. As a person committed to the community, Patti has served on many committees over the years. As a chamber member she has served as an ambassador and board member. She spent five years as Treasurer of the Lakeville Hockey Association. Patti was presented with an award from the Dakota County Department of Health for “outstanding contributions in promoting the health of the citizens of Dakota County”. This was in recognition for her involvement with the “Challenge to Change” committee, a collaborative effort by ISD 194, Lakeville Police, Lakeville Faith Community, and Lakeville Chamber of Commerce driven to address drug and alcohol use among youth in our community.
